Basiaeschna janata

Basiaeschna janata is an early season species that occurs throughout Alabama and most, if not all, of Mississippi; it may be absent from the Mississippi River Delta. The usual breeding habitat is clean, flowing streams of all sizes, and occasionally at large rivers, ponds, or lakes.
