JUNIPER HAIRSTREAK

Callophrys gryneus

Expected to occur throughout Alabama and Mississippi wherever junipers such as cedar are found.  Caterpillars feed on cedars and other species of junipers.  Underside of wings bright green with two basal spots on hindwing.  Postmedian line on forewing straight with no offset spot at top.  Similar species:  Hessel's Hairstreak
