A widespread early-season skipper that is found only locally and infrequently in Alabama and Mississippi.  Ventral surface of hindwings brown with white chevron; white sometimes extends along the veins to give the appearance of spider webbing.  Dorsal surface mostly brown with some orange marking.  Leading edge of forewing white.
