COMMON ROADSIDE-SKIPPER

Amblyscirtes vialis

Apparently this species is restricted to the northern parts of Alabama and Mississippi.  Flies in spring and summer.  Wing fringes are strongly checkered, and lower surface of wings are dark brown with gray scales near edge.  Forewing has four white marks that form a wedge shaped spot near the tip of the wing.
