Found in the northern half of Alabama and Mississippi, extending further south in the western part of Mississippi.  Lower surface of wings frosted gray sometimes with a distinct spot band on hindwing; fringes of both wings with distinct checkered pattern.  Upper surface of wings brown; forewing with white spots that form a "U" shape.  Similar species: Dusky Roadside-Skipper
