SOUTHERN PEARLY-EYE

Enodia portlandia

Expected to occur throughout both Alabama and Mississippi. Typically found in moist woods near its host plant of Giant Cane.  Very similar in appearance to the Northern Pearly-Eye but distinguishable by more white on ventral surface of wings, solid yellow antennal clubs, and curved line of eyespots on forewing.  Similar species: Northern Pearly-Eye and Creole Pearly-Eye
