DORANTES LONGTAIL

Urbanus dorantes

Known from only one county is southern Mississippi.  This species resembles the more common Long-tailed Skipper but lacks the green iridescence on the upper side of the wings.  The lower surface of the hindwing has the dark areas more broken up than in the Long-tailed and the forewing has an interrupted submarginal band.    Similar species: Long-tailed Skipper
